Sounds Like San Diego: April 20

I'm always here, every day, telling you about this show or that show you should see at night, but this is one ti I'm going to plan out your day. First, you're going to head to your local record store for Record Store Day. Many artists release limited-edition vinyl only on this day , so see what M-Theory or Lou's or Off the Record has to offer. After you rest or have lunch, you're going to dust off your old bike, bust out your Compass card or strap on your favorite pair of walking shoes and get over to the historic Lafayette Hotel for San Diego CityBeat's annual Festival of Beers. The craft-beer scene is huge in this city, no doubt, but you can also just go to check out the awesome stylings of Family Wagon, the Palace Ballroom, Paragraphs, and Okapi Sun -- all past or upcoming perfomers at our free monthly SoundDiego LIVE events. Stay hydrated and don't overdo it, because afterward, you'll want to have dinner at a local eatery before going to the Irenic in North Park for Beach Fossils and Mrs. Magician. This is an early show with doors at 7 p.m,, so when it ends around 10 p.m., if you still have anything left in you, go check out the Creepy Creeps at the

or the Telescopes at Soda Bar. After all is said and done, call a cab and get home safe, where you can plan on a Sunday of holistic freshness at EarthFair.
