The band formerly known as Viet Cong -- who changed the name for the insensitivity of it -- are now Preoccopations and their music is so good, that soon enough nobody will remember the politically incorrect slip of the past. Catch them with Porcelain Raft at Casbah. Meanwhile, another Coachella artist, Banks, returns to town with a show at Humphreys, where the seats have been removed temporarily to accommodate the standing-only crowd. Meanwhile Fresh Sound hosts an anniversary series show at Bread and Salt in Barrio Logan, Lupe Fiasco makes a scene at the Observatory, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus play a second night at the Holding Company in OB.
