Sounds Like San Diego: April 11

The California Honeydrops headline the Belly Up -- and Wednesday's live-music action in San Diego

The California Honeydrops just might be the most appropriately named band ever. Their sweet and silky sounds evoke New Orleans jazz and R&B, and their multi-part harmonies are a throwback to another era, while still feeling modern, current and sunny. They've supported Bonnie Raitt and BB King to name a couple, but tonight they kick off a massive headlining tour that has them going all over the country through summer, before they return this fall for a spot on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise. If you're looking for music that makes you feel warm and fuzzy, the Belly Up is your spot. Meanwhile, Coachella-bound, rising pop star Hayley Kiyoko plays a sold-out show at the Observatory North Park, Soda Bar hosts a night of '90s tribute acts, and locals the Night Howls headline the Casbah
