If you grew up listening to punk rock or any iteration of hard core, your head might be spinning right now because you're so excited about Wednesday night's big show. I am very much in that camp, was old enough to love Minor Threat and Fugazi in my teens but not old to have ever seen Ian MacKaye performing live. For the past decade or so, he's been playing with Amy Furina as the Evens, and the duo will perform at both weekends of Coachella but are playing a special all-ages show in San Diego Wednesday. Some nights in San Diego are good music nights, but this is kind of a big deal. It's an early show at the Irenic, with doors at 7 p.m. and the Evens performing promptly at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
