Shaun White's Band Debuts 1st Album

Another gold medal for Carlsbad native Shaun White? How about a first gold record?

The snowboarding star-slash-guitarist and his group, Bad Things, released their first album Tuesday. The self-titled compilation is available on iTunes.

White had been touring with the band over the summer but put that on hold to prepare for the Sochi Games. He'll start actively promoting the album after the Olympics.

He says playing in a band is satisfying in a different way than snowboarding, where he'll be going for his third straight halfpipe gold in Sochi.

"The band is the only thing I do that involves teamwork, really," he told The Associated Press. "It doesn't matter how good I am at playing the guitar. The band has to come up with a great song to make it work."

White formed the band with longtime friends/fellow North County residents Anthony Sanudo (guitar) and Lena Zawaideh (drums). The trio then brought in singer Davis LeDuke and bassist Jared Palomar to round things out.
