San Diego Pride dominates this weekend, and 91x's Robin Roth has your best bets

Friday kicks off the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's Summer Concert Series with the Wallflowers. Other options include the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party; Chappo, Yukon Blonde and Fort Lean at Soda Bar; Built to Spill headline the Belly Up; Alice In Chains play at Pala Casino; the Helio Sequence and Quarto Negro are at the Casbah; Muscle Beech and Inspired and the Sleep take over the Black Cat; Chon (CD release) is at Soda Bar; Sure Fire Soul Ensemble (record release party) with Taurus Authority hit Winston’s; Trails and Ways, Bakkuda and the Slashes are at the Hideout; and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy with the San Diego Symphony is at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Dance options include F---ing in the Bushes at the Whistle Stop; Hayden James at Bang Bang; and Nervo at Omnia.

After the Pride Parade on Saturday, the fun continues at the Pride Music Festival in Balboa Park. Elsewhere, Third Eye Blind, Dashboard Confessional and Night Terrors of 1927 are at Harrah’s Resort Southern California; Quel Bordel headline the Casbah; Deering Banjos 40th Anniversary Party featuring the Kruger Brothers, Jesse LaMonaca with Brian Holwerda, Josh Damigo and Gayle Skidmore is on the Star of India; Magic Giant, the Major Minus and Babe are at Soda Bar; Foreign Bodies and Dead Twenty Sevens play at the Balboa; Big Bad Voodoo Daddy with the San Diego Symphony hits Embarcadero Marina Park South for Night 2; and the Casualties take over the Observatory North Park. Get your dance on with Brazzabelle at Bang Bang; Maystar’s Fashion Whore at U-31; Neon Beat at Bar Pink; ‘80s vs. ‘90s at the Whistle Stop; Stafford Brothers at Bassmnt; Manufactured Superstars at Omnia; and Wiggle at the Kava Lounge.

Sunday is Day 2 of the Pride Music Festival in Balboa Park. Plus, DAY MVS featuring Matoma, Hayden James (DJ set), Colour Vision, Klatch and others is at Quartyard. Later that night, Barenaked Ladies, the Violent Femmes and Colin Hay play at the CCCU OAT; Cheap Trick headline a sold-out show at the Belly Up; Big Talk and the Nervous Wreckords are at the Casbah; and Basecamp, Angels Dust and Longclaws take over Soda Bar.
