Rock the Guilt Away

KPBS will be taping "Live at the Belly Up" with the Heavy Guilt Monday night

It would seem like those of us at SoundDiego would be opposed to promoting another local television program, but we love local music and we think there's enough room for everyone to find their little corner in the scene, ultimately benefitting bands and fans. KPBS has been producing "Live At The Belly Up" for a few months now, and the bands are always great. If you haven't seen the Heavy Guilt lately, they're in a 2.0 phase, with one less guitarist after the departure of Sean Martin, so parts and entire songs have been reworked to highlight the other members in the band. I happen to like the 5-piece version a whole lot more, and I think you will too. Plus, the shows are free if you "Like" the event on Facebook. So really, you just can't go wrong. Of course, if you're averse to driving to Solana Beach, Soda Bar and Casbah have solid local lineups, too.
