Saturday (and Sunday) Night Fever

There's still so much fun to be had this weekend in San Diego. Make sure you save some energy for Sunday night, because there is an important benefit event happening. In the meantime, Saturday night is filled with some great options.

Join me Saturday night for Club Sabbat at The Flame in Hillcrest. This night features the best in gothic, industrial and fetish. It happens on the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays of the month. I'll be hosting the night, and special guest DJ JohnC (Bar Sinister, Los Angeles) will be spinning EBM, synth/future pop, industrial and harsh electro in the main room. Drew Harlander (FM 94.9) will keep it old school, dark '80s and goth in the back room. Nightmare Hides will be showcasing their wares, and the Sabbat dancers always entertain. Another awesome event is happening that night at El Dorado, as Young Guns and Boys & Girls present Australian-based Cassian from Bang Gang Records. He is currently trekking through the States as part of a tour for his new EP. To celebrate, he put together a mix of his favorite club tunes and even some of his new ones.  Check it out here. Rounding out the lineup will be GroundFloor, Adam Salter and an opening set by Blancnoire. Plus, Taylor Doms aka TheMixter.com, will be celebrating her birthday.

Sunday night at the Kava Lounge, Samantha Wynns presents a benefit for Melissa and Greg Compton in the fight against Lyme disease. Five years ago, Samantha's friend Greg contracted chronic Lyme disease. After pursuing every available treatment in the United States to no avail, Greg and his wife, Melissa, decided, after much research, to pursue stem-cell treatment in India. The treatment costs upward of $40,000. This event is to help fund Greg's journey and treatment, and to help the Comptons bring awareness and change to this country. A Ninja Night of Music will feature DJs Marcus Edward, Mark Zabala, Michael Insane, Chris Millet and Darkmatter. For more information about Greg and Melissa, their journey, and the stem-cell treatment they are seeking, please check out this link. If you can't make the event, consider donating on the chip-in page.
