End the Year With a Bang

Now that we are past that whole end of the world thing and the holidays are over, we can focus on New Year’s Eve. Plus, all of the events between now and then.

Friday is Spacedown at the Kava Lounge with Lee Reynolds, Blackass and special guest Subtle System. Your details are here. There are also some fun live music choices, including Buck O Nine at the 710 Beach Club and the first of two sold-out Rebelution shows at House of Blues.

Saturday, it’s the Club Sabbat Masquerade Ball at Numb3rs in Hillcrest. Don your finest attire and join in on the celebration. I’ll be DJing in the main room with Liquid Grey and Diskdroid will be in the back room. You can get more details here. For your fix of the Smiths and Morrissey, Sweet and Tender Hooligans play at the Casbah. Elsewhere, Vokab Company hits the Belly Up and the second sold-out Rebelution show is at House of Blues.

On Sunday and Monday, LED presents OMFG! NYE 2013 at Valley View Casino Center (a.k.a. the Sports Arena). More live music awaits you as the Casbah presents New Years Eve at the Lafayette Hotel with Little Hurricane, Get Back Loretta, Blackout Party, the Creepy Creeps and more. Dirty Sweet is getting back together for a one-time-only reunion show at the Griffin with Grand Tarantula and Deadly Birds. Steve Poltz and friends are at the Casbah and Reverend Horton Heat hits the Belly Up. Elsewhere, Voyeur features TJR with Brazzabelle on New Year’s Eve. There’s an open bar from 9 p.m. until midnight and you can buy tickets here. The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego has their party roaming over three floors and five venues with 12 DJs. There’s also the Wobble event at Spin nightclub that will pack a punch.

No matter where you go in San Diego this weekend, there’s sure to be a party. Remember: designated driver and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
