The Keys to a Great Weekend

Now that October is finally here, there’s so much to look forward to. This week has been action-packed with shows and Thursday includes the Black Keys with Tegan and Sara at Valley View Casino Center (a.k.a. the Sports Arena) and Florence and the Machine, the Weeknd and the Maccabees at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. At Voyeur downtown, it’s the Gaslamp Killer and you can get on the no-cover-before-10:30 p.m. list here. Fluxx EDM features 21-year-old college junior by day, house music producer/DJ by night 3LAU. Grab more details via this link.

Friday, Class Actress performs at the Griffin with Jamuel Saxon and Kitten. More info via this link. Another fabulous woman is playing in San Diego that night. You know her from the Gotye song “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Kimbra brings her solo show to House of Blues and you can get more info here. At Brick by Brick, celebrate 25 years of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult as they headline this night of music. Plus, local bands Squirrely Arts, Bricklayer Bosh and Hocus.

Saturday night, join me at the Kava Lounge for Club Ascension. I’ll be DJing with Tom King and Atom throughout the night as we spin the best in dark underground dance music. Grab more details here. At El Dorado, it’s SD vs. OC with Adam Salter vs. Kedd Cook and Colourvision vs. Her Swerve. Blancnoire rounds out the lineup and you can get more info here. At Voyeur, it’s Los Angeles-born, New York City-based DJ/producer Clockwork and you can RSVP here for no cover before 10:30 p.m.

Keep up to date via my blog and I’ll see you on the dance floor this weekend!
