Cinco de Mayo weekend is upon us, so don your finest sombrero and get ready to enjoy plenty of parties that may or may not involve tequila and cervezas. Either way, pace yourself as there is much to do through Sunday, including Fiesta Old Town and Rock the Boulevard.
A few dance parties on my radar Friday include Morten Breum at Voyeur, Lovelife presents A Wig Party with Blond:ish, Jon Dadon and Boys Don’t Disco at Analog, Feel The Noise with Heavens Gate (Gabe Vega & Pleasure Victim) + Will Redd at U-31 and Moonshake at Kadan with Mikael Stavostrand, Dazzla, Quark and Reynolds.
Saturday night, head to Ascension at the Kava Lounge for the best in dark underground dance music. I’ll be hosting and DJ-ing with Tom King, plus special guests PNM and Baron. Other dance events to check out include the Club i-D ‘80s reunion party in the Mississippi Room of the Lafayette Hotel and Harvard Bass at Voyeur.
Save some energy for Sunday. It is action-packed with daytime pool events at Float at the Hard Rock Hotel with Roger Sanchez, the Lafayette Summer of Love Opening Party with Droog and Wavehouse featuring Chris Lake. Then, starting at 5 p.m., more fun at Quality Social for the Lovelife “Summer of Love” Official Afterparty celebrating Turbo.FM’s three-year anniversary.
