Odessa Kane Drops 'Tres Sietes' Knockout
Odessa Kane drops a video for "Tres Sietes" -- the first single off his upcoming studio album "King K.A.N.E."

Southeast San Diego rap veteran Odessa Kane is back with "Tres Sietes," the first single and music video off his long-awaited upcoming studio album "King K.A.N.E." [watch it here]

The new Yohalmo-produced song finds the multi-San-Diego-Music-Award-winning hip-hop artist -- who came up in the mid '90s with the Masters of the Universe crew (which also included Gonjasufi, Johaz aka Dag Savage, and Orko Eloheim among others) -- taking aim at both naysayers and the oppressive powers-that-be alike, slicing and dicing with his usual scalpel-sharp lyricism.

For Kane -- an acclaimed Mexican/Filipino artist who's carved out a luminescent career by crafting thought-provoking, politically-charged hip-hop -- "Tres Sietes" and its contemplative minor-key beat represents a slight scale-down from the critical global commentary offered up on previous records like 2012's "Cuetes and Balisongs" and 2015's "Left to Bear Arms" to one more personal in scope.

With its "They came with three sixes / I came with tres sietes" refrain, a reference to the ancient battle between piety and wickedness, Kane seems to circle the track looking to reconcile and overcome that ominpresent struggle in everyday life -- and lament those he's lost to it.

If "Tres Sietes" is any indication, "King K.A.N.E." promises to be worth the wait.
