November Nights

Robin Roth of 91x weighs in with her weekend dance picks

As we recover from Halloween shenanigans over the past week, there’s plenty of candy to last for the next few months.

Time to burn off those calories by hitting the dance floor, starting with Thursday night. Blk Owl presents the Dark Side’s Day of the Dead at El Dorado, with live performances from Grand Tarantula, Vampire and Degero, plus a DJ set from Nicky Valentino. Get more info via this link. Lookout Weekend invites you to join them for a Dia de los Muertos cerebration at El Camino Little Italy. DJs Keenan, Joemama and El Vee will provide the soundtrack to the evening; get more info here. Elsewhere, LED presents Zane Lowe with Mossberg Pump at Voyeur. Join in on the no-cover-before-10:30 p.m. list here.

For those who want to be part of the Dia de los Muertos two-day festival in San Diego, head to Old Town on Thursday and Friday. More info here for you. On Friday night, check out Bass Kleph at Voyeur; there’s no cover before 10:30 p.m. with your RSVP via this link.

Saturday night, join me for Club Ascension at the Kava Lounge. Tom King, my club partner for the past six years, is moving away from San Diego. This will be his last Ascension, so come wish him well. We’ll be joined by Atom in the DJ booth, so this will be a great night of dark underground dance music. Grab more details here. At El Dorado, Boys & Girls present Poolside (DJ set), Adam Salter and Blancnoire. If you’re heading to the Poolside show at the Casbah earlier that night, this event at El Dorado is free with your ticket stub. Plus, if you arrive before 10:30 p.m., there’s no cover with your RSVP.

Keep up to date via my blog, and I’ll see you on the dance floor this weekend!
