Rain or Shine: Zac Brown Band on Solid “Foundation” at Cricket

Zac Brown Band will be country-ing out at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre on April 13.

Two-time Grammy award winners Zac Brown Band will be showing San Diegans everything they’ve got on April 13 at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. This will mark the band’s second appearance at the venue in the past year.

The country band consists of lead singer Zac Brown, Jimmy De Martini on fiddle and vocals; John Driskell Hopkins on bass and vocals; Coy Bowles on guitar and keyboard; Chris Fryar on drums; and Clay Cook on guitar, vocals, keyboard and mandolin.

Originally from Georgia, the Zac Brown Band have recorded a total of four albums and nine consecutive hit singles. They have attained more than 50 Grammy nominations since 2009, and their debut album, The Foundation, was named one of Billboard’s Top 20 albums in 2009.

“[The Foundation is] a defining record," Brown said in in interview with The Associated Press. "Every step of it's done the right way, and I expect people are really going to love this record and see the depth of our musicianship; we're always growing. Not that we've arrived at any grand finale or anything, but the progress from this last record to this one, it's tremendous and I'm proud of it."

Not only doesthe  Zac Brown Band appeal to country music lovers, but also to fans of reggae, bluegrass and a variety of other genres. They have made appearances at such music festivals as Bonnaroo, the Hangout Music Festival and Hullabalou.

They also frequently covers songs by some of their favorite music artists, including Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Rage Against the Machine and Van Morrison.

Brown and the band are currently working on a new studio album, which will be released this year.
