All your teenage dreams are about to come true: Pop tart Katy Perry just added an extra stop on her California Dreams Tour, and what better place could the California Gurl hit up than San Diego?
Perry will perform at the Valley View Casino Center (aka San Diego Sports Arena) on Aug. 9. No opening acts have been announced for the show, but Perry promises a new twist with this tour: smell-o-vision. Tickets ($39-$49) will be go on sale Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. through the venue's box office and Ticketmaster.
Saturday's ticket release is a big day for her San Diego fans, but Sunday may be huge for the performer herself.
Perry will be competing for the Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Grammy awards on Feb. 13. She is also up for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("Teenage Dream") and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals ("California Gurls" with Snoop Dogg). Look forward to a live medley of her top hits during the ceremony.
Aug. 9 will be Perry's second San Diego concert within a year. The superstar joined the lovely lineup at VH1 Divas Salute the Troops at Miramar's Naval Air Station in early December. Other performers included Paramore, Nicki Minaj and Keri Hilson (check out our gallery from the event).
