Help a Band Break Out!

Two young bands are competing to play our free SoundDiego LIVE party May 30 at the 207 Club

We seem to have skipped the typical May gray in San Diego and gone straight to the days of summer sunshine. But thanks to our SoundDiego LIVE bash on May 30 at the 207 Club, the May nights will burn even brighter.

In case you haven't heard, the event will feature Western Scene and Okapi Sun, plus a VIP happy hour hosted by Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (\RSVP for the party here). That's plenty to keep music lovers happy, but all you regulars know that no SoundDiego LIVE event is complete without a Garage 2 Glory competition.

VOTE NOW: Pick your favorite band for Garage 2 Glory

For the uninitiated, Garage 2 Glory pits two bands against each other in an online battle to the death. SoundDiego fans -- that'd be you -- vote for the band they like best, and the winner gets to play our SoundDiego LIVE event. This month, the competing bands are Mothlight and Teenage Burritos.

Mothlight have a dreamy, shoegaze-y sound that's equally suited to a night out dancing or a day relaxing at the beach. Teenage Burritos are the gritty analog to Mothlight's pristine digital, and their high-speed, lo-fi approach sounds like the band time-travelled 30 years into the future just to keep the punk flame burning.

Both bands would make a great addition to our May 30 event, but there can be only one winner. To vote for your favorite Garage 2 Glory band, click here. The winner will be decided May 28 at noon.

Regardless which band wins the competition, the May 30 SoundDiego LIVE at the 207 Club will be something you're sure to love, so don't miss it. You can RSVP for the party here.
