Hello, From the Other Side of Southern California

Adele books eight dates in Los Angeles and snubs San Diego

Adele: Hello, it’s San Diego. I was wondering if after all of these years you’d like to come back to San Diego to perform. The last time you played here was at SDSU’s Open Air Theatre in 2011. It’s been so long that the theatre has since changed its name to CalCoast Credit Union Open Air Theatre.

Hello, can you hear me? I know you just added two more dates (on top of the SIX you already booked) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but I’m also in Southern California dreaming about when you used to perform here on your tours. It’s not like there’s that big of a difference between San Diego and Los Angeles -- it’s not a million miles; it’s more like a hundred.

It’s so typical of me to talk about myself, though. I’m sorry. Los Angeles is great and everything, but you know that San Diego isn’t just a town where nothing ever happens, right?

Anyway, while you’re on your sold-out world tour after having added "Glastonbury Festival 2016 headliner" to your resume, we’ll be buying tickets on Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. as we mentally prepare for eight hellish round-trips to Los Angeles.

For now, and goodbye from the other side of Southern California.
