Some lucky students in Chula Vista got to see famous musicians who visited their school Friday.
Ozomatli, a Grammy-award winning band, was at Montgomery Elementary School.
They were visiting as mentors as part of the 2018-2019 "Turnaround Arts" Program that the Chula Vista Elementary School District launched.
The goal of the program is to teach art and music to children in school.
"My music teachers teach me how to play different notes and they teach me new songs," said Victoria Trujillo, 11, who plays the flute in the school band.
Students like Trujillo said they were inspired when they saw Ozomatli in their auditorium.
"Music brings people together and art can do that too," said Raul Pacheco, guitarist and singer for Ozomatli. "It's an important part of making this a better world."

The group listened to the school band and choir perform. They also took questions from students. One student asked the group to perform a rap, which the group did with a music improvisation behind it.
"I think I want to be a musician when I grow up," said Maria Valdez, 10, who plays the trombone in her school band.
Ozomatli won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Urban or Alternative Album in 2002 and again in 2005.
