Godsmack, Halestorm Slam Cal Coast OAT

Godsmack and Halestorm come to Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University on Oct. 15

Get ready for a sonic smackdown, because Rock 105.3 is bringing Godsmack and Halestorm to Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University on Oct. 15.

Godsmack, who came up during the late '90s/early '00s heyday of post-grunge and nu metal, formed in 1995 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and racked up some four Grammy Award nominations, three Billboard Music Award nominations (winning one) and 10 Boston Music Award nominations (winning all but two) between 2000 and 2006.

With seven studio albums under their belt, including their most recent "When Legends Rise" (2018), the four-piece, composed of Sully Erna, Robbie Merrill, Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin, are about as hardened as a rocker can get.

Joining them on tour is Pennsylvania-based hard rockers Halestorm, who have been active since 1997. Composed of Lzzy Hale, Arejay Hale, Joe Hottinger and Josh Smith, the Grammy Award-winning quartet serves as the perfect complement to their fellow East Coasters.

The last time Godsmack came through town was in 2015, and it was just a year later for Halestorm, so San Diego is due for a good slamming.

And with this lineup, it looks like we're going to get it.

Tickets are on sale starting Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. Get them here.
