Dance Floors Heating Up, Too

The past few days have been pretty warm in San Diego for this time of year. Things should cool down as the weekend goes on, but no matter what, plan on the dance floor heating up as there is a lot going on.

 

Thursday night, don’t miss English DJ Pete Tong’s first time playing at Voyeur. Tong has graced the decks of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. As a producer, he has assembled the music for such movie soundtracks as The Beach and 24 Hour Party People, and has produced his own material under various guises. As a DJ for BBC Radio 1, he is known for hosting many programs, including Essential Mix. Don’t miss this opportunity to see him live. Plus, enjoy an opening set from TJR. For more info, go here. If you want to experience a night of steampunk, then Chrononaut at Electric Ladyland in Ocean Beach is for you. Since the Cut Copy show at 4th & B is sold out Friday night, join me for Pussy Galore at the Whistle Stop. This monthly night features a cast of all-female DJs and spotlights bands that have women in them. Maren Parusel, who just happens to be the 91X Local Break for the month of October -- and will play at SoundDiego LIVE on Oct. 27; guest list here -- will headline, and Sundrop Electric play first, at 10 p.m. I’ll be spinning indie, electro, Brit pop, ‘80s and more with Terryn S. throughout the night. Get details via this link.
