Get ready for an intense five-day weekend with options to go strong in the sun or under the stars at the Nightswim party at Hard Rock Hotel’s rooftop FLOAT. Join myself and some of San Diego’s elite music providers for a nighttime pool party where the drinks will be flowing and bikinis are highly recommended. If you’d rather kick off in the sun, Robin Schulz joins the Horizona Beer Fest, which combines great beats with a wide range of beers and food at the Embarcadero Marina Park.
Sunday, July 2, is packed with events. The unique location of the Deep End Block Party featuring Matthew Dear will be taking a whole city block and creating an urban playground for your enjoyment -- complete with an exquisite lineup of underground electronic music on two stages, a pop-up photo gallery, immersive local live art, vendor area, full bar, food trucks and plenty of room for this eight hour DanceAThon. If you’re more keen on downtown action, get live with Lil Jon at the Hard Rock Hotel's rooftop. Legendary for insane summer lineups, Intervention returns for a special Fourth of July edition and will be a sure sell-out. For sexy vibes under the sun with rooftop action and free champagne from 1-2 p.m., SeepSoak hosts the Andaz rooftop at SOL Sundays.
Keeping the party jumpin', House Nation brings in Richard Vission on Monday, July 3, for the monthly Monday series hosted at Rich’s San Diego. Focusing on the vocal vibes of house music, this weekly party will make sure you’re dancing through midnight to celebrate with an exclusive set by this Grammy-nominated legendary dance music producer. On Thursday, July 13, Digital Cocoon hosts a special fundraiser at Kava Lounge bringing together the community of dance one gathering at a time. I’m excited to be on the bill for this one along with one of San Diego’s original underground movement players Baquai? where we’ll be playing a variety of dance music you’ll have to show up for to hear. Friday night, Firehouse invites you to enjoy some beach time happy hour & house music at Solset featuring Myron Eugene, Memo Rex and resident Jimbo James. That goes down from 4-9 p.m.
Whether you’ve taken a peek at his Prescription Mix series or not, the Doctor is in the house at Bassmnt -- Dr. Fresch that is. A regular on the road now with Steve Aoki, Diplo, Dillon Francis and more, Dr. Fresch is a high energy monster and Saturday, July 15, you can experience it yourself intimately at Bassmnt. As the month hits the midway point on Saturday, July 16, Hotel Garuda returns to Bang Bang and is the perfect mix of feel-good-house-music and an appetizing setting with some of the city's best sushi.
On Friday, July 28, Omnia hosts a very special event featuring one of the world's most in-demand artists: Zedd. One Night Stand, co-produced by Energy 103.7 FM, continues to build on these series of events, which have hosted the likes of Marshmello, the Chainsmokers and more in recent events. On Saturday, July 29, Extreme Auto Fest returns to Qualcomm Stadium filled with some of the hottest cars and beautiful models competing in the annual bikini contest, as well as the inclusion of a new dance music stage with surprise guests to complement the main stage turntablism expo and more!
Also Saturday, the Alkaline Podcast celebrates it’s one-year anniversary and has joined forces with Soul Work to bring that sexy, sultry techno/house/burner all day dance vibe into physical reality! With the beautiful backdrop of the San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge, the party goes from 3-10 p.m. at Cesar E. Chavez Park Pier.
