Hopefully you’ve recovered from Fat Tuesday and are ready for more fun this weekend. On Friday, Dum Dum Girls play a sold out show at the Casbah with Blouse and Lube; the 91X Next Big Thing show at the Griffin features Semi Precious Weapons, Okapi Sun and Yell For Help. Tickets are only 91 cents at the door the night of the show; the Ataris play at House of Blues in honor of the 10th Anniversary of So Long Astoria, and will perform the album in its entirety; Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe with Jungle Fire play at the Belly Up; Macaulay Culkin’s band the Pizza Underground makes a tour stop at U-31 with DJ sets by Mike Turi (Wild Wild Wets) and Kid Wonder;  local favorites Manuok headline at the Tin Can, the Amandas hit the Whistle Stop, and the Donkeys play at Soda Bar. Plus, a live DJ set from Rev Run and Ruckus at Stingaree, Hip Hop vs. Punk Rock takes over the Tower Bar and Kittens is at Bang Bang.
 
Saturday, Club Sabbat is at Numbers with Dark Angel and yours truly DJing in the front room, while Severin keeps it old school in the back room. At the Kava Lounge, Elev8 and Dragon Lounge present Bleep Bloop with support from Osal8, Mk-Ultra, Arkon, Sleeve and Squama. Booty Bassment is at the Whistle Stop with DJs Dimitri and Rob; and Maystar’s Birthday Party edition of Fashion Whore is at U-31. On the live music tip, Hills Like Elephants CD Release show with Wild Wild Wets and Boy King happens at the Casbah. If you RSVP via this link, you’ll get a free copy of the new album at the show.
