Attention, local musicians! Now's your chance to get a regular slot on NBC San Diego News in the Morning. No, it won't be a personal appearance, but it could be your song!
NBCSanDiego contributor Barbarella is on the hunt for a new intro song for her morning-show segment, "Stepping Out With Barbarella." In addition to her weekly columns for the San Diego Reader, this socialite/journalist produces packages about community events for NBCSanDiego's morning show.
Right now, Barbarella is using Rosemary Clooney's "Hey Mambo" for the 7.5-second introduction (take a look at the current opener here). But as times are changing, so is she.
For her new theme song, Barbarella is asking San Diego musicians for submissions. The requirements? Something upbeat, catchy and memorable. It needs to be exactly 7.4 seconds -- the last 0.4 for fade-out time. And don't worry about creating something original just for the project; the entry can come from an existing, original song by the artist who is submitting the entry.
