Belly Up Hosts a Dance Party for Good

On Sunday, Aug. 25, the Belly Up is making a change.

With the help of electrifying dance band Atomic Groove, the venue is hosting a charity benefit for the Doors of Change nonprofit, which has already helped place almost 2,000 local homeless youth in safe housing.

San Diego's unhoused rate is exceedingly high -- No. 4 in the country when it comes to young people. With its Taking Music and Art to the Streets program, Doors of Change wants to help break that cycle.

But it's not just a dance party for charity. The Belly Up event will also feature a live auction, which includes the only Jerry Seinfeld-signed Ibanez electric guitar in existence and a Steve Martin-signed Deering banjo.

If you want to go all out for the benefit, VIP tickets include a VIP party, drinks and appetizers, reserved seating and exclusive entrance to a raffle that includes a Billy Crystal-signed autobiography, a Goo Goo Dolls-signed guitar and a Bad Company-signed guitar. With only 175 raffle tickets in total, that's pretty good odds.
