Bayside Summer Nights Add the Who's Roger Daltrey

The San Diego Symphony's Bayside Summer Nights season runs June 29 to Sept. 2

The San Diego Symphony’s annual summer concert series along the waterfront returns in a few short months and will bring some big names to the scenic stage.

The Bayside Summer Nights 2018 season -- which includes live music as well as movie screenings accompanied by a live symphony orchestra playing the score -- kicks off June 29 and will run through Sept. 2 at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Each concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

This year's season, as in years past, features an eclectic lineup including Rick Springfield (July 13-14), Marc Cohn & the Blind Boys of Alabama (July 27), Patti LaBelle (July 28), Burt Bacharach (Aug. 3), Robert Randolph & the Family Band (Aug. 19) and the Temptations with the Four Tops (Aug. 24-25).

As a just-announced surprise, the San Diego Symphony added a particularly big name in rock & roll you may be familiar with: On Aug. 15, the Who's iconic frontman, Roger Daltrey, will perform hits from the legendary band's immense catalog, other rarities and selections from his new solo album with other members of the Who touring band!

It may be your best chance to see Daltrey perform for the foreseeable future: The Who haven't performed in San Diego since 2016 (when they played Valley View Casino Center), and their current tour dates don't bring them anywhere near America's Finest City -- so snag those tickets while you can.

Single-show tickets for Bayside Summer Nights go on sale April 29, with prices ranging from $18 to $95. Subscription packages are available now, which include access to three to eight concerts for a fixed price, starting at $63.
