DJ Robin Roth has updated her top picks for the Memorial Day weekend

We're hot on the heels of another holiday weekend in San Diego; it won't be soon till the official start of summer is upon us. Plenty of BBQ-ing and beach action awaits. Hopefully, you’ll be able to enjoy a combination of downtime and fun. 

On Friday, the 91x Resurrection Concert Series kicks of with the Damned at Sycuan Casino Center. The Mowgli's hit the Loft at UCSD. The Casbah hosts the 30-Year anniversary of Ugly Things, the underground music magazine that launched in San Diego in 1983. Featured the first evening of a three-night stand on Friday is Glenn Ross Campbell (of the Misunderstood) with the Loons, Ebbot Lundberg of Soundtrack of Our Lives and the Neumans. Turbonegro headlines at House of Blues. Shake Before Us, SXO, Duping the Public and the Elephant Project play at the Ruby Room. Its Night 2 of Katchafire and Maoli at the Belly Up. Get your dance on at Quality Social as House of Fortune presents Plastic Plates and Lane 8. Plus, the Bonkers! EDM dance party is always fun at Bar Pink

A special Saturday edition of Intervention hits the Hard Rock Hotel, featuring Dutch DJ/producer Afrojack. Also downtown, the Gaslamp Music & Art Festival starts at 11a.m. Then, it will be time to regroup and head to Voyeur for Brazzabelle. There's no cover before 10:30 p.m. with your RSVP here. In honor of the holiday weekend, Club Sabbat presents their military-themed night, with DJ Atom and myself at Numb3rs in Hillcrest. LED presents My Life Everyday USA at Valley View Casino Center with an 18+, two-day festival that runs from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., with live bands and DJs. Saturdays lineup includes the Presets, A-Trak, Baauer and Brodinski. Grab more details here. For your live-music fix on Saturday, TV Girl returns to Soda Bar, Cold War Kids play the first of two sold-out shows at the Belly Up and River City with Boy King invade Bar Pink. Plus, Night 2 of 30 Years of Ugly Things at the Casbah with Love Revisited (with Johnny Echols, plus guest singer Ebbot Lundberg of Soundtrack of Our Lives), the Sloths (original ‘60s garage band reunites) and the Rosalyns (Girls in the Garage with members of Loons, Schitzophonics, the New Kinetics, Chinese Rocks and G). 
 
Intervention is also on Sunday at the Hard Rock Hotel, with English electronic DJ/producer Gareth Emery. It's the one-year anniversary of Afternoon Delight at El Camino, with DJs Saul Q, Virusss, Edroc, Julz and more. Night 2 of LED presents My Live Every Day USA is at Valley View Casino Center and features Axwell, Diplo, Martin Solveig, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Clockwork, TJR, Hook n Sling and more. Grab more details here. For those making the most of the holiday weekend, the Voyeur Daybreak Party with TJR kicks off at 6 a.m. on Monday and goes till?? That night, you can check out Fiction Family (Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek) with the Howls at the Casbah. Plus, Night 2 of sold-out shows with Cold War Kidsa at the Belly Up.
