Arise, San Diego, and Dance!

While Peeps and eggs abound this Easter Weekend, make the most of getting your dance on Friday and Saturday. You may have some extra calories to burn off, especially if you’ll be doing some family time for the holiday on Sunday.

As always we start the party early Thursday night, and Nero at Voyeur will not disappoint. The London electronic act is best known for fusing dubstep and drum-and-bass into its DJ sets. Nero’s debut album is set for release in August. Check out this recent mix and gear up for the fun Thursday! Plus, you’ll enjoy an opening set from Araabmuzik. More details here

Friday, don’t miss the return of German DJ/producer Tocadisco at Voyeur downtown. After more than 100 international remixes (Moby, Tiga, New Order, Pet Shop Boys), two artist albums and 20 worldwide singles, his success continues to grow. Anthony Ross will do opening honors; you can get info via this link.

Also on Friday: Feel the Noise presents Jillionaire at U-31 in North Park. With over 15 years of experience behind him, Jillionaire has previously teamed up with M.I.A, Switch and Major Lazer, and can currently be found representing Diplo’s record label, Mad Decent. Combined with his energetic onstage presence and versatile sound, he mashes indie dance and house with the Caribbean rhythms of soca and dancehall. Rounding out the lineup will be Gabe Vega, Saul Q and Headshake. Now that’s a win all around! For more info, go here.

Saturday, join me as I host Club Sabbat at the Flame in Hillcrest. This is a special fourth-Saturday event, since there will be no 5th Saturday of Sabbat this month. DJs Ladynoir, John C and Diskdroid will be playing the best in gothic, industrial and EBM, along with old school '80s in the back room. Giveaways include tickets for Front Line Assembly in June at Brick By Brick. Get more details via this link.

Check out info about Thursday-through-Saturday events via my blog. See you on the dance floor, and don’t forget to bring me an extra chocolate peanut butter egg!
