In case you hadn't already heard, New Belgium's Tour de Fat is back. In the past, the event was free and held in Golden Hill in late September, but this year they've expanded the event by offering up bigger artists than ever and making it a 21+ ticketed event. The funds still benefit the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and is still definitely worth your attention as the Naked and Famous take the headlining spot on a bigger stage at Waterfront Park. The free, all-ages bicycle parade kicks off at 2:30 p.m. from Panama 66, with Waterfront Park gates opening at 4 p.m. and going until 9 p.m. In other day events, the Smooth Jazz Festival takes over the Embarcadero while the San Diego Beer & Music Festival goes down at Liberty Station. By nightfall, head to the Casbah to see Brian Karscig play jams from his projects Convoy, Louis XIV and Nervous Wreckords, swing by Soda Bar for Three Bad Jacks or catch Band of Gringos at the Belly Up in Solana Beach.
