It's a Vampire Weekend (Sort Of)

91x's Robin Roth's top weekend picks carry through Monday, when Vampire Weekend will be in town.

Summer has officially come to a close. While there’s a chill in the air, things will be heating up this weekend.

Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend in El Cajon and Balboa Park. The Haunted Hotel downtown and The Haunted Trail both start Friday night, so get your scare on before the lines get too crazy. If you are sticking around the downtown area, the Bromance Records Tour with Brodinski and Louisahhh hits Voyeur. Live-music picks include Gary Clark Jr at House of Blues, Islands at the Casbah, the Mother Hips at The Belly Up and Johnny Vatos Boingo Dance Party at Sycuan Casino.

The Adams Avenue Street Fair is Saturday and Sunday, featuring so many great local bands, including Ed Ghost Tucker, Barbarian, the Styletones, Blackout Party, Chess Wars and the Palace Ballroom. The best part -- it’s free! Saturday night, join me at Numb3rs for Club Sabbat. I’ll be DJing in the front room with Ladynoir; you can grab more info here. Other dance picks include Brazzabelle at Voyeur and Booty Bassment with DJs Dimitri and Rob at the Whistle Stop.

Make sure you save some energy for Vampire Weekend on Monday night at the Open Air Theatre; elsewhere, Man Man headlines at the Casbah.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
