Sublime San Diego

91x DJ Robin Roth's weekend music picks a great lineup headlined by Sublime With Rome.

Hard to believe August is here. This summer is just flying by, so enjoy every moment this weekend.
On Friday, check out Iration as part of the Del Mar Concert Series at the racetrack. The band plays after the last race, and the show is free with track admission. Options after that include Soda Bar for the Blackout Party, the Beautiful View (EP release) and the Hollerin. At the Casbah, it’s Dead Feather Moon, Trouble In the Wind and Kelly McFarling. Plus, Son Volt headlines at the Belly Up

At the Casbah on Saturday afternoon, Daydream Nation presents the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap. This meet-up of record lovers and sellers is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free with a canned-food donation. Elsewhere, Tribal Theory will play at the Supergirl Pro at the Oceanside Pier. The band takes the stage around 4 p.m. Get details about this free event here. Other shows to check out include Sublime with Rome, 311, Cypress Hill, Pennywise and G. Love at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre, plus a Mower reunion show at House of Blues. Get your dance on downtown with Psychemagik, Adam Salter and Blancnoire at El Dorado. You can also join Ladynoir, Dark Angel and yours truly at Club Ascension, where the ladies will take over the DJ booth at the Kava Lounge.
Cap off your weekend with the 91x Sunday Summer Splash Pool Party at the Lafayette Hotel or head to the Hard Rock Hotel for Intervention with Krewella and DJ Vice.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
