Everybody's a Voyeur on the Dance Floor

So many birthdays right now. How many Aquarians do you know? It seems like I've been celebrating day after day, and it's only going to get crazier this weekend.

But first, on Thursday, another stellar night at Voyeur awaits you as Nite Vision presents Jakwob, aka, James Jacob. This British DJ and producer meshes elements of dubstep, electro, ghetto-tech and break-beat while at the same time transcending those genres. Boom Ting Recordings is his imprint, one that exists as an outlet for his music, as he released his debut single, "Here With Me," back in September. In November, Jakwob signed to Mercury Records; he is due to release his first album this year. He has produced remixes of tracks by Matisyahu, Little Boots, Empire of the Sun and the Temper Trap, just to name a few. And let's not forget that he's only 21 years old. With a busy schedule of performing that takes him to some of the biggest European clubs and festivals, it will be a treat to see him at Voyeur. Rounding out the night will be PeaceTreaty and Turiyo, both from Los Angeles. Get ready for some bass!

Lookout: Saul Q’s birthday celebration this Friday night, and you know it's gonna be a fiesta of epic proportions at U-31 in North Park. The lovely MayStar will be hosting the festivities, and Gabe Vega, Havok, Third Twin and Kid Wonder provide the musical entertainment. This is sure to be a fun night! Check out more details here.

Calling all mystical creatures, faeries, elves, gnomes and goddesses: A night of merriment awaits as Club Sabbat founder Linda Estep will be celebrating her birthday at the Flame in Hillcrest for a special 5th Saturday event. I'll be spinning in the front room with DJ Atom, and Liquid Grey will keep it old school in the back room. As always, the best in industrial, darkwave and fetish for you on this night. Plus, MsFormaldehyde will be showcasing her wares. For more info, go here.

Check out other events happening this Thursday through Saturday via my blog. See you on the dance floor, and have a great weekend!
