The Kills Knock ‘Em Dead

San Diego, you are in for a treat.

On Friday, April 15, the Kills will bring their scorching sex-rock to House of Blues. The show marks their first local appearance since a 2008 Casbah gig, and anybody who was at that show can vouch for the duo's ability to blow the roof off a place.

It's been a few years since then, but the members of the Kills haven't spent the time idly. Singer Alison Mosshart became a household name as front woman for Jack White's band du jour the Dead Weather, and guitarist Jamie Hince passed the time as any true rock star would -- by dating supermodel Kate Moss.

Luckily, Mosshart and Hince's distractions couldn't keep them apart for long, and they've since returned to doing what they do best: forging sleazy, steamy blues rock guaranteed to get your hips moving, even when you're lying down.

The House of Blues show comes hot on the heels of the Kills' fourth album, Blood Pressures, released on April 4. The record is a worthy addition to their impressive discography, full of the churning sexuality and razor-sharp hooks that have become the band's calling card. You can stream Blood Pressures in its entirety here.

Of course, you've never really heard a Kills song until you've seen Mosshart slither across the stage, purring her vocals while the stoic Hince wrings out raunchy riffs from his guitar. Those of you who were forward-thinking enough to buy tickets to the House of Blues gig already will get to experience just that on April 15. Procrastinators are out of luck, though -- the show is now sold out.
