Why does the iPhone 4S get to have all the fun with Siri? Progress is already being made in porting the personal assistant over to the less powerful iPhone 4.
It's not perfect, but Steve Troughton is working around the clock to smooth out his port of Siri to the iPhone 4. His hack can't connect to Apple's servers to pull data, but at the very least it should be able to do things locally such as manage local tasks like setting reminders, calendars, etc.
Although Siri was originally an app available on all iOS devices, it's believed that only the iPhone 4S's dual-core processor is capable of smoothly integrating Siri throughout the phone.
Hopefully, Troughton will figure out the missing pieces and bring Siri's complete features to the iPhone 4, because I'm itching for it — and don't feel like upgrading to the 4S.
