Mark Twain Is Today's ‘Google Doodle'

Mark Twain was born 176 years ago today.

A local literary icon is the inspiration for today’s Google Doodle.

If you have already been on Google today, you might have noticed that the doodle is of a famous scene from “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” where Sawyer whitewashes the fence.

It’s in honor of Samuel Clemens birthday. He was born 176 years ago, on Nov. 30, 1835 in Florida, Missouri.

In 1871, he moved to Hartford and his former house, now the Mark Twain House and Museum, is treasured landmark in Connecticut.
