Facebook Gets in the Guinness Book

Facebook set the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most likes on its own site.

The Social Network had 47,194,601 as of Wednesday, edging out Zynga’s Texas Hold’em Poker page, with 45.78 million. The top five was rounded out by Eminem (42.05 million), YouTube (40.44 million), and Lady Gaga (39.49 million), reported All Facebook.

The official page for Lil Wayne, had the most likes on a Facebook item with 668,198. The page also holds the mark for most likes on a Facebook item in 24 hours, at 588,243 on Feb. 15.

Frito-Lay U.S., had the most likes on a page in a 24 hour period, with 1,571,161 April 11 through 12.

As of June 29, 2011, the most comments on a single Facebook item stands at 529,335, in response to a post made on 10 January 2011 on the Facebook page for Roberto Esposito (Italy).

The famous record keepers also posted some other top record-holders in social media.

Charlie Sheen is "winning" with the fastest time to reach 1 million followers on Twitter.

Lady Gaga had the most followers on Twitter (as of June 29, 2011)

Justin Bieber has the most viewed video online, with "Baby," as of June 29, 2011.

The most "liked" video on YouTube is Judson Laipply's "Evolution of Dance", with 759,563 "likes" as of June 29, 2011.
