Eric Schmidt is Finally on Google+

Google chairman Eric Schmidt is finally on his own company's social network, Google+.

Last month we wrote about Google's top brass, including cofounders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, not being very active on their own social network -- and until Wednesday Schmidt didn't seem to have an account. But perhaps after reports that Google+ traffic had plummeted and a Google engineer calling the social network "a pathetic afterthought," perhaps Schmidt realized he had to make a move. And that move was to finally become a part of what his company is producing.

What's strange is that the account has a "verified name," and a photo of Schmidt from at least 20 years ago. If this is really him, perhaps he's guilty of the same vanity as many social network users.
