Name Your Price On Amazon

Miss haggling at an outdoor market or bazaar? Now you can have that same feeling by using Amazon's new "Make an Offer"  feature that lets users attempt to bargain with its merchants.

Users will be able to bid a price with Amazon's merchants "in certain categories," according to VentureBeat. The new feature will be limited to about 150,000 items in the Sports & Entertainment Collectibles, Collectible Coins and Fine Art  categories, where merchants can accept the bids, refuse them or make a counter-offer. Unlike eBay, none of the transactions will be public.

Amazon is expecting to roll out the feature to more items in 2015, but wouldn't confirm if that meant more categories, VentureBeat reported. Likely this would mostly help merchants who are having a hard time moving their merchandise. However, it's interesting to note that Amazon is offering this eBay-like feature as online auctions site eBay is deciding to make cuts by laying off staff.
