Apple to Create Larger iPhone

Apple's Chinese supply chain will produce the company's largest iPhone next month, according to reports.

The Chinese supply chain will be creating two models, an iPhone with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch screen to ship in September, according to Bloomberg News. The larger display is part of a growing trend of larger devices, especially those in China where 40 percent of mobile devices have 5-inch displays or larger.

Apple's "chief weapon" is its popular iPhone and it needs a hit with the latest version and hopes are being pinned on the larger iPhone. Apple declined to comment on the new report.

The new iPhones are also reportedly more round and thinner than previous models, and the new specs make the production more complex. Apple is reportedly creating new iPhone designs with rounded glass and new sensors.

The new iPhone will be widely anticipated. Apple hopes it will be a financial success and others, mainly its rivals, will wait to see if it will be a failure for the tech company.
