Greg Grunberg: Fans Need More “Heroes”

"Heroes" star Greg Grunberg feel strongly that the show will be back for a fifth season, despite rumblings to the contrary.

"It would be a stupid business decision not to bring it back," Grunberg tells PopcornBiz. "We still have a very strong fan base and they want to see a conclusion. Fans would be outraged."

Season 4 ended on Feb. 8, and there has been no word from NBC on the fate of the show. But various pundits have predicted "Heroes" will not be coming back. Grunberg, who says he's "disappointed" to hear about the wrapping up discussion, feels that even if that is the case, there should be more time.

"If we're going to wrap this up, let's get another season or even 13 (episodes)," he says. "We need closure on the show."

A full season wind down can do wonder for publicity, much as it has done for "Lost."

"It's important to have an end game like 'Lost,' " he says. "Because now people want to see the end of it. It's a great thing ratings-wise."

Despite all the negative buzz, Grunberg remains optimistic.

"(NBC) is still figuring it out, they don't gain anything by announcing early," he says. "And believe me, if this were a monster hit we'd be picked up by now."

"But I would bet we're coming back," he adds.
