β€œThe Town” Trailer Brimming With Wicked Pissah Accents

Ben Affleck is back behind the camera for another crime drama set in his hometown, joined by an impressive cast. And truth be told, the trailer for "The Town" doesn't look half bad.

In addition to directing, Affleck co-wrote and stars in the film based on Chuck Hogan's "Prince of Thieves." Here's the synopsis form the film's Facebook page:

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang’s latest job, when they briefly took a hostage bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

We first saw this clip Saturday night before "Inception" (yes, we liked it so much we went to see it again), and it looked great. Good pace, nice action, great actors... It looks to be a solid genre film.

In addition to Affleck and the always good Hall, the cast includes Jeremy Renner in his first post-"Hurt Locker" role, Jon Hamm (who desperately needs to stop playing serious men who wear suits), Blake Lively looking totally believable as a Chuck Town local (there's a compliment in there somewhere), and Chris Cooper.

Affleck does a crackerjack Boston accent (as he should), and we're digging the nuns with machine guns, we just hope this wasn't just some elaborate ruse by Affleck to stage a robbery at his beloved Fenway Park.
