Taylor Lautner to Produce and Star in Gus Van Sant's Next Picture, Despite Lack of Sexual Tension

You may recall that a few weeks ago, Taylor Lautner was talking to Australian GQ about a dinner he'd had with Gus Van Sant and Dustin Lance Black, prompting the jackalope interview to ask if either man had made a pass at him. It now turns out that gay men are able to focus on something other than their libidos long enough to discuss work.

Lautner will be producing and starring in a film to be directed by Van Sant, a small-budget affair based on a New Yorker magazine article to which Lautner recently secured the rights. While it remains unclear who will be scripting the film, it would only make sense if Black were involved, which would reunite him with Van Sant, with whom he worked on "Milk."

We're not exactly fans of Lautner, but then we're not exactly his target demo. That said, we have to hand it to the kid for trying to develop a post-"Twilight" career that isn't all about films like "Abduction" or "Stretch Armstrong."

Lautner can next be seen Nov. 18 in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," while Van Sant's been directing episodes of Kelsey Grammer's new political drama "Boss," and Black's "J. Edgar," starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is due to be released Nov. 9.
