“Twilight,” RPatz Dominate MTV Movie Awards

The vampire flick took home all the top awards, including "Best Movie"

Much like a vampire shimmying up a pine tree, the 2011 MTV Movie Awards came and went with a sparkle and a hiss.

And, of course, there was Robert Pattinson.

“Saturday Night Live’s” Jason Sudekis hosted the event and opened with a tip of the hat to “The Hangover” where he and some buddies imbibed a little too much and tried to find a lost Taylor Lautner.

Sudekis also offered several untimely Arnold Schwarzenegger jokes, saying that the for the first time, the entire balcony of Gibson Amphitheater was comprised of Schwarzenegger’s offspring.

Vampires and, specifically “Twilight” brought in the majority of the popcorn-shaped awards. Robert Pattinson won for Best Male Performance as smoldering vampire Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart won for her portrayal of Bella, and best fight and best kiss went again to “Twilight.”

After taking the stage with Stewart to accept their award, Pattinson unexpectedly ran off to plant a big ol’ smooch on Taylor Lautner. In the “Twilight” films, the two play an opposing vampire and werewolf who both vie for the attention of Bella.

“Twilight” also won the Best Movie of 2011.

"The fact that we're standing up here is a testament to all the hard work that went into 'Eclipse,'" Lautner said.

Pattinson and Chelsea Handler honored Reese Witherspoon in a special segment. "It's not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother," said Pattinson, who played the son of Witherspoon's character in "Vanity Fair" as well as her love interest in "Water for Elephants."

The outspoken British actor also managed to slip an F-bomb past censors and into Witherspoon’s tribute.

The night also served as a teaser for what will prove to be summer’s biggest blockbusters. Steven Spielberg showed up to promote his upcoming collaboration with J.J. Abrams, “Super 8.” Exclusive sneak peaks of the final “Harry Potter” and “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part One” were shown to raucous squeals from the audience.

MTV also heavily pushed the premier of their new show, “Teen Wolf.”

Other winners of the night included Justin Bieber for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment (from his “Never Say Never” Performance Spectacular, and Alexys Nycole Sanchez from “Grown-Ups” for the Best Line from a Movie (“I want to get chocolate wasted”).

Tom Felton, who won Best Villain for his nefarious portrayal of Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” said he has big plans for his popcorn-shaped trophy.

“This will look very nice in my downstairs toilet,” he said.
