Kirsten Dunst Joins Lizzy Caplan and Adam Scott in Will Ferrell's “Bachelorette”

The Kirsten Dunst Career Revival continues, with the young actress signing on for a new comedy starring two "Party Down" alumnae.

Dunst is set to star in "Bachelorette," an upcoming comedy from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She joins a cast that already includes Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan and Casey Wilson.

Caplan and Dunst will play two of three girls asked to be bridesmaids by a girl, to be played by Wilson, whom they called "Pigface" back in high school--we detect a whiff of revenge brewing. Scott will play Caplan's old flame who shows up at the wedding with a much younger woman on his arm.

The film is a low-budget affair--about $3 million--based on an off-Broadway play of the same name.

After peaking in 2004 with "Spider-Man 2" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," Dunst's career went into a steady decline, finally hitting the ground with a thud in 2008'2 "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People."

But then came her turn in "All Good Things," an uneven and ultimately unsuccessful film co-starring Ryan Gosling and Frank Langella. For all the film's problems, Dunst was fantastic. And now her next starring vehicle, Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia," will be showing at Cannes at the end of the month.

Welcome back, Miss Dunst.
