DEL MAR, Calif. -- A new device called a V-Calm sign has been installed at a Del Mar intersection in hopes of slowing drivers down.Installed at the intersection of Del Mar Heights Road and Durango Drive Thursday afternoon, the solar-powered sign shows vehicles their actual speed as they drive by. If a driver is going over the speed limit, a blinking "slow down" appears on the sign.
San Diego City Councilmember Scott Peters said that's usually enough to slow drivers drown.
