Story Bracelets Give Women New Lease on Life

Two local women have started a business that brings in money for their own families and helps single, stay-at-home moms, too.

The business is called Praols Story Bracelets. Rosario Venegas and Palmyra Zurita started the company five years ago after taking a beading class. Initially, they were selling to their products to their friends. They found immediate success, but not only for themselves: They employ single, stay-at-home moms who want to be there for their kids and bring in an income, too.

Zurita said the pair has been contacted by big companies who want to mass produce their products, but they have chosen to stay local. They credit their success to appearances at trade shows all over the country, as well as to word-of-mouth.
