Doesn't seem possible, but the Seaport Village is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is about to expand.
Even though last year was tough for merchants at the bayside shopping center because of the economy, they're hoping to make a big rebound. They are hoping to kick-start that boost by renovating the historic old police headquarters to add more shops.
"Virtually nothing can be changed on the exterior," Seaport Village representative Terry Hall said about the historic structure. "It will be cleaned up and painted. In the interior courtyard, though, we can do some interesting things with storefronts for our retail."
Hall said that the village hopes to start construction on the building during the next six months, with new businesses opening about 18 months after that.
