Some of San Diego’s best chefs presented tips and dishes last weekend at the two-day event focused on the best of the kitchen.
In the middle of all the food and wine tasting at the Gourmet Experience, one exhibitor stood out from all the rest - Jewels on 5th, a jewlery design shop located in the heart of HIllcrest.
Participants were encouraged to vote for their favorite presenter via text during the food expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Oct. 9 - 10. Attendees Jewels on 5th as the event's "Best in Show."
Owned and operated by Master Goldsmith Emmanuel Himmelberger and Graduate Jeweler and Artist Julie Harris, the company offers clients a chance to choose the style, stone, metal and any other feature to create a memorable piece.
The expo offered foodies the chance to taste, test and shop new products just hitting the market - from mouthwatering chocolates, sauces, snacks and cheeses to the season's hottest trends in kitchen appliances and culinary products.
Among the chefs who offered cooking demonstrations were Chef Brian Malarkey of Searsucker and Chef Jeff Rossman of Terra.
