San Diego’s popular floating museum , the USS Midway, has decided to extend its summer hours this year.

The museum will be opening daily at 9 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. from June 30 to August 19. In addition, the museum will be open until 9 p.m. on July 11 and August 8 for its special presentation about night operations aboard aircraft carriers.

It’s the first time the USS Midway has extended hours, mostly thanks to this year’s increased attendance. The museum has had 15 percent more visitors than this time last year.

Also, in 12 consecutive months the museum had more than 1 million guests for the first time.
