A San Diego County casino is planning to expand its facilities to double its current size, reports our media partner North County Times.

The Rincon Band of Mission Indians in Valley Center filed a report to federal regulators detailing their development plans Harrah's Rincon Resort & Casino. A 21-story hotel is included in the expansion, along with more gambling space, reports North County Times. The expansion also includes a 23,000 square-foot "multipurpose room," which could host 10 to 12 concerts a year.

Overall, the expansion would add 571 restaurant and bar seats for more than 1,800 people according to the report.

"The environmental evaluation, which the tribe has produced, is a very complete and honest document that addresses the issues of the impacts on the environment off the reservation in a very open and straightforward way," Charles Matthews, chairman of the Pala-Pauma Valley Community Sponsor Group, told North County Times. "And for that the tribe is to be complimented."

There will be a meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. to discuss the plans. The meeting is open to the public.
