Get an Ocean View for Just $150

A 6-bedroom, $1.8 million dream home could be yours.

A six-bedroom, $1.8 million dream home could be yours for an investment of $150.  An Encinitas home is going on the auction block to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

The 4,000 square foot home has pool, a hot tub, a three-car garage and a gorgeous view from the backyard and second-floor patio.

The charity started selling $150 tickets in January. The winner will have a chance at the home or a $1.5 million cash prize.

"We're hoping to sell out 40,000 tickets this year," said Daniel Sinton, director of development for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.

This is the sixth year the charity has organized a fundraiser where a luxury home is offered up as a prize.

Renee Spencer of San Diego won a cool $1.3 million and took the title of 2009 Grand Prize winner of the Ronald McDonald House Dream House Raffle.

"I was speechless, just speechless that's all I can say." said Spencer. "I couldn't believe it."

Spencer purchased two tickets for the raffle and her inspiration for getting involved was actually her friend back east who is struggling with cancer.

Money from ticket sales will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, which provides a "home away from home" for families with seriously ill children.

"The money goes to our operating fund that allows us to build this beautiful house and serve our community," said Bill Lennartz, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. "Our mission basically is to do whatever we can to help the families that have children with serious illnesses here in our local hospitals."

The new house has 47 bedrooms and will serve 20,000 families each year as a much-needed resource for the community as the critical need for services for these families grows.

The deadline to enter is May 28, 2010. The drawing will take place on June 12 with the winners posted on June 14.  Click here for more information.
